Christmas is right around the corner, and it’s time to decorate! There are classic favorites like putting up the Christmas tree and hanging up lights, but what about the rest of your house, apartment, or room? Here are some DIY and inexpensive Christmas decorations that are sure to bring some Christmas cheer!
If you live somewhere that lacks in the snow department (I’m talking to you, Arizona girls), then add some fake snow to your Christmas décor. There are a few ways to do this:
- Reuse your Halloween cobwebs. Who says you can’t recycle? I always take my fake spider webs from Halloween and bunch them up to look like snow.
- Take shredded white paper and spray it with glitter. It is sure to make some great-looking snow.
DIY Star Tree Topper
Need a tree topper but don’t want to spend a lot of money? Make your own! All you need is an empty cereal box, a printed star cut-out, glue, and some gold paint or spray paint. Click here for a tutorial.

There are some adorable Christmas banners from shops like Meri Meri, but you can also make ones of your own. These are a few I’ve made:
(I made the one in the middle)
(I made both of these banners using the three yarn colors in the middle)
To recreate these yarn banners, all you need is three different colored yarns (I used red, green, and gold) and something even to wrap the yarn around. A hollow mason jar lid will be the easiest tool to create a tassel, but you can also use a book if that is more accessible. Click here for a tutorial.
Deck the halls with these inexpensive, fun, and festive Christmas decoration ideas. Make as many variations of these as you want, and use them to create the perfect setting for the holidays!
