General Conference is just around the corner! Mark your calendars because the general women’s session is on Saturday September 23 with the other sessions broadcasting the following week. What are you doing to prepare for #LDSconf? Whether it’s your third or your thirtieth general conference, I’m certain you will benefit when you prepare. Here are some ideas to help guide your preparation for an enriching weekend.

Learn about the leaders

Over the past few years, there have been some changes. If you are less familiar with one or more of the current Apostles of the Lord, take a moment to learn about their story. Their stories may inspire you!

Review your notes from the last general conference

I’ve noticed that current conference messages can related to previous ones. When I review old notes, I come prepared for the next message Heavenly Father wants me to hear.

List personal questions

In your conference notebook, list personal questions you would like to receive guidance. It helps you notice answers if you have your questions already planned and on paper.

“As you prepare for general conference, I invite you to ponder questions you need to have answered…There are messages in each general conference given as a gift and a blessing from heaven specifically for our personal life situations.”

– President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Attend the temple, study the scriptures, and pray

The temple is a place where we can step away from the world and step towards heaven. The spiritual environment can help us focus on the eternal and prepare us spiritually to hear from the living prophets of God.  It will help us be in-tune with the spirit so we can recognize his promptings during conference.

Invite others to watch or attend with you

I’ve always benefited by watching or attending General Conference with a friend. It’s also a great way to introduce a friend to our beliefs.

Regardless how you prepare, enjoy the weekend and share you favorite quotes and topics! #LDSconf and #itsmytimeto

Smile,

Rhea
