Sometimes, after a long semester of school or an extended time apart from your friends, it’s nice to get together and have a girls’ night. There’s something about catching up with your besties that is just so much fun, and so worth it! This past weekend my friends and I went to Shenzhen, China for an overnight girls’ trip celebrating our friend who’s due in a few weeks, and we came up with a few ways to take your girls’ night/slumber party to the next level. These are my top favorites:
1. Lots of SNACKS, of course!
You can’t plan the ultimate girls’ night without a BUNCH of treats. They automatically make any girls’ night 10X better. Some favorites include chips, popcorn, chocolate, and any kind of candy you would’ve wanted to get as a 5-year-old on Halloween. If you want to make your girls’ night a little fancier, try chocolate-covered strawberries, or assorted chocolates.
2. Chick Flicks!
Slide into those PJ’s, grab the popcorn, curl up in a blanket, and throw on your favorite chick flick! Movies are a guaranteed hit at a girls’ night, and it is always a great excuse to watch your favorite Nicholas Sparks movie.
I love playing card games and group games, so this is always a hit for my friends and I! Whether it is a card game like Uno, a group game like Sushi Go!, or an active game like charades, they are bound to get people laughing, and having a good time. I don’t think I’ve ever played a game of charades where I wasn’t laughing my face off by the end! The app Heads Up! is a current favorite of mine. If you play this game with your friends, get ready to crack up.
4. Spa activities
Some of my favorite girls’ nights have included chatting while painting our nails, or wearing silly facemasks. These activities are fun ones to do if you want to spend a lot of time catching up, because, unlike movies and games, they are activities you can easily multi-task.
5. Pick the destination
Most of the time girls’ nights are just for a few hours, but if you want to make it more of a girls’ slumber party, grab yourself a hotel room or an Airbnb. My friends and I decided to stay at a hotel, and while it’s usually on the pricier side, it isn’t as expensive as you’d think if you all share one room! All four of us bunked in a room for a night, and it was awesome because it allowed us to stay up as late as we wanted without anything distracting us from spending time together.
You now have all the tools you need to create the ultimate girls’ night, so grab your phones, call up your friends, and plan your next evening out!
